Issues and Challenges in Preparing and Evaluating Delay Claims
Delays are one of the most costly issues on construction projects, affecting contractors, subcontractors, and owners. When delays occur and cannot be resolved at the project level, experts may be engaged to prepare a delay analysis or evaluate the delay claims of the adverse parties. This session will review and discuss common challenges that parties face when claiming delays and that experts face when evaluating delays. The presenters will explain available methodologies and their benefits and disadvantages, typical documentation issues, concepts that affect delay calculations, and other decisions which can impact the outcome of a delay analysis.
